Agenda-
Potential Permit Fees
Shellfish Constable, Bill Walton, presented a potential license fee schedule to the Committee for discussion and consideration. Lengthy deliberation ensued by all present. Walton expressed his desire for fee increases as an effort to curtail increasing commercial pressure on the fishery. The Constable also requests that a minimum of 75% of revenues derived from permit fees go directly toward propagation and conservation efforts.
Selectman Donovan requested that a public discussion be held with the Board of Selectmen, prior to said issue being presented to the Board for consideration.
Due to the nature of potential permit fee changes, and the amount of time needed for consideration, The SAC has agreed to hold another meeting to discuss this matter specifically.
Next SAC meeting Tuesday, February 12th, 6:30pm at Town Hall
Respectfully submitted,
R. Andrew Cummings
Shellfish Advisory Committee Secretary
