STANDING COMMITTEES
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: ~
Purpose: ~Advise and assist the President; to consider issues where quick decisions need to be made; to conduct the business of the Association in the absence of the President.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:
Purpose: ~Develop plans to recruit new members and retain current members; make recommendations to the Board of Directors; distribute invitations to join, be present at summer meetings to accept dues and answer membership iinquiries:

NEWSLETTER
Purpose: ~Solicit articles from committee chairs and membership; edit and print winter and spring newsletters
Editor: Dwight Estey ~
NOMINATING COMMITTEE:
Purpose: ~Solicit nominations from membership for officers and board members; present a well balanced board for elections (organizational skills, time and geographic distribution); request brief biography and reason person wants to serve; report recommendations to board and then to membership; present report to WNRTA Annual Meeting for vote.

PROGRAM COMMIITTEE
Purpose: ~Plan and produce 2 or 3 summer meetings for the general membership; determine formats of meetings; arrange for speakers, place and time; clear dates with other major organizations to avoid conflicts; prepare and distribute fliers, press releases for general membership meetings distribute and analyze audience evaluation forms for future program and membership purposes.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE:
Purpose: ~To arrange for refreshments at membership meetings and to organize annual gatherings for the board

OYSTERFEST COMMITTEE:
Purpose: To plan and organize a booth for the Wellfleet Oysterfest

JULY 4TH FLOAT COMMITTEE:
Purpose: To plan and organize a float for the 4th of July Parade.

DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING, ZONING & AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Purpose: ~Follow Wellfleet Planning Board agendas and keep members informed of relevant information; help members to understand importance of zoning bylaws for controlling growth in Wellfleet and the Lower Cape; follow development of Local Comprehensive Plan and Town Charter review.

WELLFLEET HARBOR, BEACHES AND PONDS
Purpose: ~ Keep members informed of activities and issues relating to the marina and harbor including progress of the Herring River estuary restoration; investigating and monitoring the state of beaches and ponds and their facilities.

WELLFLEET'S FINANCES
Purpose: ~Study Wellfleet municipal finances, including sources of funding, expenditures, use of overrides and debt exclusion and capital outlay planning; explore money-saving strategies, as appropriate.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION IN WELLFLEET
Purpose: ~To study and identify ways to support the Town in its efforts to preserve, protect and develop historic or archaeological assets. ~

TRANSFER STATION
Purpose: ~To support the Town in making the Transfer Station as user friendly, environmentally responsible, and conforming to regulation as is feasible.

WATER COMMITTEE
Purpose : ~ To be informed on the status of the municipal water system and keep members informed as the town makes decisions concerning its water system.
